Sure, I’ll Write Another 1,000 Words…

Right after I arrange my outdoor office space, take photos of how great it looks, and then play with the paint settings on my camera; then blog, Tweet and Tumblr the photo. Right after that, promise! 😉

Seriously, I’m half way there, and can’t wait to publish the “Working Title” and an excerpt after my first big edit. That will hopefully be late December. I know it’s a wait, but I hope you’ll feel it’s worth the wait. I’m going to submit to many, many publishers once it’s completed, but will also consider self-publishing ~ just going with the flow.

Thanks for standing by, and for your Likes and Shares of all I write. It keeps me writing…less decorating, more writing! Thanks.

Find the Fun

Find the Fun

Find the fun today. Inspire yourself. Inspire someone else. Read a paperback book. Review a paperback book! Try something you’ve never tried before, just because you’ve never tried it. Call – don’t text – a friend. Raise a glass to a friend who’s passed away. Sing in the car at stop lights; smile and wave at the drivers beside you. Today is a gift that you’ll never get to open again. Find the fun.

Book Giveaway Winners!

The FIVE winners of my book giveaway are…

Instant Drum Roll…

Sean Vessey, Julia Kovach, Kim Laroque, Peter Carter and Kathy Uyen Nguyen. They will have their books soon!

I just want to take this opportunity to thank you for supporting my career as an author; for sharing my books with others, writing reviews, & telling me what you did (and didn’t) like in my work.

Can you believe that it has been five years since Where the Butterflies Go was published?

Instant Surprise 🙂

SO much has happened since then. I’m grateful for those of you who have stuck with me on this journey since the start, and those of you who have ‘found’ this Page or my Twitter or blog and shared it with others.

I’m going into hiding a little now to finish my first long book of fiction, and hope that in the meantime, please, you’ll keep busy reading & sharing my poems and screenplay and the work of other indie authors.  In this fast-changing, confusing book industry, we need all the help we can get!

Much love and gratitude,

5 Book Marketing Myths You Need To Forget – Guest Post by Joanna Penn

My Fantastic Summer Finds 2013 (Not as $$$$ as The O List!)

1) Yonanas -The banana ice cream maker: great way to get your kids to eat fruit, no sugar added! I like bananas and blueberries the best, but it’s all so good, and so easy to make.
2) Growing Gladioli and Hibiscus plants and using them to decorate the patio table. I also use white sand dollars and sea shells as a table ‘runner’ along with flower petals, but that’s just my style – you can use natural elements your own way, be creative and have fun.
3) Dollar store wooden jewellery boxes & other boxes – $2 – paint them with your kids!
4) Letting your hair dry in the sun using a natural curl enhancer like Aveda BE CURLY.
5) The poetry of Don Coles. This Canadian should be a cultural icon like Cohen. Re-eading “How We All Swiftly,” and I’m still getting goosebumps.
